Key cutting is the process by which a machine takes the mould from a key and then creates the same impression on new material which is usually aluminum to create a new key. By way of key cutting we are all able to have spare keys and replacement keys for our homes offices, cars and just about any locks that we have. You can get keys cut at many places. There may be smaller shops around that do key cutting along with other lock and key functions. There are also the big home improvement stores which will have the locks, the different types of keys and a section where you can go and get your keys cut. This process is not at all expensive. In fact you should be able to get a few keys or copies of a key cut for just a few dollars and they will work as great as the original key. Now you will have enough keys so everyone who needs to have one will have one and you will be able to keep a few spares just in case something happens to the keys you already have. You have no limit to the type of key that you can cut and so you’ll be able to have copies of keys for any lock you have.
